Natural Born Storytellers 'Dating Disasters'

  • Secret Venue Covent Garden London UK (map)

*** There will be NO ticket sales on the door ***
What is the worst date you've ever been on? Tonight we're sharing real experiences of dating and how calamitous our love lives are, with a room full of strangers. We will recount the mishaps, the embarrassing moments, bad habits, parental introductions, horrible honeymoons, missed opportunities or just plain bad luck. We're looking for any kind of dating stories, from first dates to last dates, double dates, dates with destiny or a date with death. We also want to hear your stories, so come along, bring a date and shake out some skeletons from your closet.

Our true storytelling shows are friendly, open, intimate and honest and the stories moving, life-affirming, shocking, captivating or just plain hilarious. It's different to a comedy show where the expectation is laughter... here laughter comes, but it's a part of a whole breadth of other emotions and reactions to the stories and it makes for a rich, fulfilling evening's entertainment. So come on down and experience one of the friendliest and most memorable nights of true-life storytelling.

Our storytellers tonight are:

Chris Stokes A full time comedian, writer and actor, Chris is prolific on the circuit and has toured with many famous names and has taken many solo shows to the Edinburgh Fringe. But it is on stage, sharing stories, that Chris feels most relaxed and in the zone.

Natalie Petzal has a whole host of disastrous dating stories from her internet dating days. Expect cringe-worthy tales that'll have you squirming in your seat

Kashyap Raja a playwright and storyteller, fresh off a beautifully crafted full show at Shambala Festival, tells gorgeous and poetic tales straight from the heart and you can bet his dating disaster packs an unexpected punch.

Hannah Deasy a poet, spoken word artist and storyteller, Hannah some rock n roll attitude and plenty of heart in her terrifically engaging stories

Helen Black of Dear Diary London fame, has a wonderfully confessional style of storytelling, so you feel her aches, pains and embarrassment throughout.

Emily Turner was a smash hit at our Sexcapades theme a few months back. She's reaching deep into her closet for this one and bringing us a terrifically dirty and funny story

+ a couple of spontaneous audience storytelling spots available on the night for those who feel inspired

All this hosted by Michael Kossew who'll be throwing in a few anecdotes along the way.

Anyone from the audience is encouraged to share true stories alongside our pre-booked and regular storytellers. There is a great mix of stage experience on offer and it really adds to the spontaneity of the evening.

We'd love you to get involved, whether it's sharing a story, suggesting a theme or simply listening to our stories. If you have a story you'd like to tell tonight or on any of our upcoming themes, please get in touch with us with an outline of your story and the theme you think it fits best.

“This was one hell of an evening. Like really properly captivating stories that enthralled, moved, tickled, challenged and above all entertained. Such a brilliant event”

We also have a podcast where we introduce and honour a selection of stories told at our nights, which we think you'll love! You can find them all at www.naturalbornstorytellers.com/podcast

The venue is located in Central London, near Covent Garden and will be emailed to you once you've bought your tickets. It's going to be awesome :)
