We've all been in situations where we feel embarrassed, weird or just plain awkward. Tonight we'll be hearing a small selection of stories containing some truly awkward moments.
Martha McBrier, one of our favourite storytellers heading to Edinburgh this summer with a selection of stories that she is going to perform for us in an epic second half. Her show is called 'Pigeon Puncher' and she has been inspired to return to Edinburgh through her repeated appearances at Natural Born Storytellers. We cannot wait to give Martha the stage for an extended amount of time to listen to the preview of her show.
Here is her Edinburgh blurb:
Award-winning Glaswegian comedian tells true stories from a life time of incidents. Expect yarns about penguins, hypnosis, and helpful Glaswegians. Known for her amazing improv skills McBrier is now a favourite at ‘Natural Born Storytellers' , Camden.
'McBrier's comedy is not so much a talent as a true gift' ***** (Scotsman)
'When it comes to working a room, McBrier is one of the best in the business.****..' (Steve Bennett, Chortle.co.uk).
“Kittenish coquetry and bare knuckle coarseness” (Scotland on Sunday)
“A hoot from start to finish' ***** (ScotsGay)
Our shows are friendly. open, intimate and honest and the stories moving, life-affirming, shocking, captivating or just plain hilarious. It's different to a comedy show where the expectation is laughter... here laughter comes, but it's a part of a whole breadth of other emotions and reactions to the stories and it makes for a rich, fulfilling evening's entertainment.
